Creating positive work spaces programmeHow do we boost the morale of our employees?
How do we motivate them to perform better? How do we get more out of our man-hours and work-days? How do we make the most of each and every person we are employing and investing in? How do we keep our people from leaving? If you are a Business or Organisational Leader or Top Manager, the above are the questions you need to think about. An organisation is the sum of the people who work there and are a part of it. Whatever an organisation achieves is a result of the collective contribution of all the people that are a part of it. And what or how much each person in an organisation is able to contribute is contingent on his or her morale and motivation. And much of the morale and motivation of any employee has to do with the positivity or negavity of the work space - the place where each person making up the organisation goes to work every working day. The work space matters not so much for its geographical location and size, as it matters for its environment, ambience, culture and sentiment. The relationships and dynamics of the relationships that a person experiences while being in a particular workspace also matter, very significantly. Believe it or not, it is the sum of these factors that determine whether your employees perform fantastically or poorly. It is the sum of these factors that determine whether your people commit and remain with the organisation both growing it and growing with it for a long period of time, or leave at the first opportunity they can find. In fact, the sum of these factors, can also determine, whether your organisation exceeds its targets for the financial year, or falls well below its target. Now, before you rush off to acquire new desks and chairs for your staff, or call the contractors to change the carpeting or to do something about the windows, read this; those actions do not quite provide the answers. The questions to ask are, monetary rewards aside; Why do I want to come to work here everyday? (Do I really want to apart from the fact that I have financial responsibilities?) Why am I happy to work here everyday? (Am I happy to work here everyday?) Given a choice, why do I want to be employed at this organisation rather than another? (Even when someone else is offering a higher salary?) Why do I look forward to going to work? (Do I look forward to it?) Why do I want to do my job better? (Do I need to or care enough?) Why do I love my job? (Do I love my job?) The above are questions that need to be addressed from the perspective of every employee in your organisation including the lowest ranking and lowest paid. How these questions are addressed at your organisation can determine how it does in business on the market. To help your organisation best address the above questions most effectively in its unique context, Mind Evolution has a unique workshop programme to offer. Whether you are Heading your organisation's staff or employee well-being committee or In-charge of its HR or you are a Top Manager or a Leader, contact Harish Shah for a discussion on this unique programme. |
